THE CHIEF OPERATIONAL RISK COMPLIANCE OFFICER The Chief Operational Risk Compliance Officer (a Cognizant Assistant Vice President) will oversee the enhancement and implementation of the compliance program for Cognizant Digital Business Operations within Healthcare. This Cognizant leader will be responsible for ensuring that DBO has an effective compliance program for the applicable U.S. healthcare regulatory risks (both state and federal). The ideal candidate will have significant compliance experience in technology companies and healthcare entities. He or she will have broad familiarity with the laws and regulations governing the activities of such business as well as a strong executive presence and the demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with large teams consisting of BPaaS delivery teams, legal and compliance. This senior professional ensures that compliance and regulatory requirements are monitored and achieved for Business Process Medicare and Medicaid Services, Medicare Advantage Prescription Drugs, Utilization Management and associated products. Will also ensure a high customer satisfaction by adhering to contractual obligations, policies and procedures. This critical role reports to the Vice President, Global Head Healthcare for Cognizant Digital Business Operations. Business Analysts will report into this leader. The position will be located in one of Cognizant's U.S offices or could be performed fully remote. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Ensuring the implementation and maintenance of an effective compliance program for the top DBO regulatory risks. Effectively managing a team of compliance and regulatory affairs professionals and providing for their continued engagement and development. Supporting the businesses' goals while building and maintaining a strong culture of compliance throughout the organization by, among other things, implementing effective and business-savvy policies, procedures and training; ensuring open and effective lines of communication at all levels of the organization; supporting investigations, risk assessments, audit and monitoring activities; and driving enterprise-wide compliance and regulatory affairs initiatives. Establishing and supporting effective business processes and controls to ensure the organization is satisfying its regulatory and compliance obligations including remediating any identified gaps in a timely fashion. Provide input on product requirements, policy development and enhancements; serve as a point of contact for inquiries from internal and external constituents and others regarding Government practices; investigate concerns or complaints from agencies, clients, and corporate compliance; and provide staff training. Coordinate the business regulatory compliance as it pertains to Medicare and Medicaid, Accrediting bodies compliance for the assigned clients within Healthcare DBO based on, and in support of the company's strategic plan Ensure compliance of engagements with CMS, State, URAC, NCQA and other Accreditation standards. Ensure compliance and support delivery during periodic audits and closure of audit findings. Participate in client engagement and marketing and sales activities, as necessary. Leading risk management processes within Healthcare DBO teams by conducting analysis and planning mitigation Participating in the development of strategic, operational, and tactical business plans to achieve desired goals Continuously work on improving our conversion rate, grow the practice and work collaboratively with other Cognizant practices. This leader should have demonstrated experience successfully establishing a culture of compliance, proactively addressing risk, and leading a modern, fully integrated business-oriented compliance program, ideally in a healthcare data and technology company and overall healthcare operations. He or she should also have the demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships across a company, ideally in a matrixed environment, as well as with relevant government regulators. The AVP, Chief Operational Risk Compliance Officer should have strong executive presence, outstanding influencing and collaborating skills and business acumen, and the ability to serve as an ambassador and influencer for compliance and regulatory strategy. He or she should present with great credibility and have a strong reputation for honesty, integrity and ethical behavior. Sets the Course:

Qualifications An outstanding record of academic achievement, including an undergraduate degree (required); with an emphasis in Management, Healthcare Management or Healthcare Policy preferred. A master's degree is preferred. Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) Preferred Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) 10 years of relevant experience including experience in healthcare compliance programs focused on the regulatory risks of technology businesses such as Privacy, Security, Anti-Kickback, False Claims Act and Consumer Protection. Knowledge of the CMS and PDP Benefit Manuals and citations supporting these manuals is required. Proven track record creating the foundational elements of an effective compliance program such as drafting policies, creating and delivering training, and implementing effective compliance auditing and monitoring programs. Significant experience with the relevant laws, rules and regulations. Familiarity with state and federal regulatory agencies that govern healthcare companies and Cognizant's business, specifically DOJ, HHS, OCR and state laws. Significant experience working collaboratively on cross-functional and cross-divisional teams. Significant experience recruiting, training, coaching and retaining team members. Must be authorized to work in the US. without sponsorship.
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
